Dr. Ong Khim Kiat was born in 1948. He is an Indonesian citizen and a permanent resident of Singapore.
He graduated from Nanyang University in Singapore in 1976 and received an honorary doctorate in business administration from the University of Wisconsin in the United States.
Dr. Ong founded Singapore Golden Wheel Group in 1976, and began to invest in the Chinese market in the 1990s. The family-owned company Golden Wheel Tiandi Holding was listed in Hong Kong in 2013.
Dr. Ong once served as a guest lecturer in the “Mayor Class” of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, introducing the founding of Singapore to Chinese officials who came to Singapore to study.
Dr. Ong also holds important positions in many chambers of commerce, associations, and societies in Singapore and China.
Known as the Confucian Businessmen, Dr. Ong has always been actively involved in social welfare and cultural activities, especially making many contributions to commercial and cultural exchanges between Singapore and China.
As the ASEAN region takes off economically, Dr. Ong also actively promotes economic exchanges between China and ASEAN.
